It Never Gets Easier, You Just Get Better…

I have work experience of nearly 31 years, growing the sapling into a big tree, and hence the theme of my blog is a deep-rooted, fully grown tree.

I live in Thane city and I’m blessed with two daughters and my husband is a bank officer. I also, had a small stint of setting up an IGCSE School, Sanskar Gurukul at Kasarvadavali, as the Principal. Therefore I’m aware of the “reason for the hype” for international schools among parents.

My most remarkable identity is that I’m an English Teacher. When I took up arts as my stream of study in-spite of a very high percentage, people scorned me. Even my parents were unhappy, but I knew what I wanted to do. To Be An English Teacher.

Everybody dissuaded me telling me that it is a bad career choice but my choice was not based on the money market but totally on liking. This led me to further my studies in English literature up to M’phil. I also completed some certification courses from Cambridge University, including TESOL.

I saw English being taught as a knowledge giving subject which is incorrect. It is a way to analyse and evaluate the information using strategic and extended thinking where communication skills need to be developed between the students and the teacher. The teachers role is only that of a facilitator. I cannot see myself teaching any other subject. So I thought what better platform than this blog to share my experiences as a teacher and administrator with you all.
