It is truly said that moments come and go but memories last forever. That is SAARANG for me. As quoted by Karl Lagerfeld, “What I like about photographs is that they capture a moment that’s impossible to reproduce”
I would like to state that Saarang was a genuine effort from me and my staff with the help of all sections to create a college Festival par excellence and we were able to do it for the simple fact that it was our creativity and our efforts with zero interference from the Management. That is why we enjoyed doing it and it was two fun filled days of joy, happiness, engagement with different types of students through different activities.
That is why when the next Management stepped in and went on with their insults and harassment on SAARANG, I could not take it. Something snapped within me. It was something we staff had created with our efforts, through our imagination and with lot of enthusiasm and zeal. It brought our newly opened College to limelight, not only in Thane but in Mumbai also.
I could not get all the photos but after days and days of efforts could retrieve some of the photographs.
THEY WILL SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES AS EVERYTHING FROM THE TROPHY TO THE LAST DETAILS WERE OUR IMAGINATIONS AND NOT THAT OF THE MANAGEMENT WHICH THEY ALWAYS IMPOSE ON US AS IF WE WERE IDIOTS WITH NO BRAINS AND THEY HAD ALL THE ACUMEN AND KNOWLEDGE. THIS WAS OUR PROGRAMME OUR SCHOOL AND COLLEGE PROGRAMMEE WHERE MANAGEMENT WERE JUST WELL WISHERS AND INVITEES.
SORRY COULD NOT COVER THE OTHER EVENTS IN THE AUDITORIUM AND MANY OTHER EVENTS.
We collected funds on our own and even after expenditure 1.5 lakhs may still be pending in the Saarang account which ideally should have been returned to school as school had also spend about 1.2 lakhs on decorations, travel and preparations.
I just couldn’t believe that instead of appreciating the hard work and efforts put in by the Principal and staff for starting the Junior College and holding the Saarang Festival to bring up the name of the college, she was insulted to the extent possible only due to rivalry and one upmanship between the outgoing and incoming committee. Horrible state of affairs. I am out of School today because I had the audacity to organize Saarang and open a Junior College. Isn’t it shameful? Instead of being awarded I am punished for giving preference to my job instead of my family and don’t talk of my reputation. It has been torn to shreds by every committee and especially before the General Body.
I am proud to say SAARANG was not for idolizing the different political party heads, but to give the school and college students a fantastic platform. As just now said by Mr. C.G Tawde as in P.V Kate Sir’s time, the political shoes were not allowed inside the premises.

OVERWHELMING RESPONSE

By The President Shreerang Education Society, Thane
Season’s Greetings to everybody. As the President of Shreerang Education Society, I convey my best wishes to each and everyone associated with Shreerang Education Society from its very inception, on the occasion of the silver jubilee year of Secondary Section of Shreerang Vidyalaya (English Medium) which coincides with “SAARANG 2017” – the first Cultural Festival of our Junior College of Science and Commerce. Cultural Festival in simple words, can be described as an identity where various attributes of human values, such as attitudes, preferences, knowledge, etc., are tested in a particular social group, which could have positive influence on social development of any student in the formative stages of his/ her life. It is therefore very much necessary to have such forum of expression. This identity also plays very important role in making students self-motivated in the social activities/ developmental activities. The recognition of students as an individual or a group is the main key to such motivation. This eventually gives positive impact on the making of better creative environment in a school or college that in turn leads to creation of knowledge society. I recognize that it takes huge efforts to organise inter-school and/ or inter-college level programmes such as “SAARANG” and therefore I wish to take this opportunity to salute the zeal and enthusiasm of the Staff and Students of all sections of Shreerang Vidyalaya. Knowledge Society is a version of evolution of continued development within various strata of Society, the basis of which is shaping young minds. I am proud to see how wonderful it is that we have teachers of exceptionally high calibre whose wisdom is available to the student community of Shreerang Vidyalaya. Shreerang Vidyalaya set up Junior College in Commerce and Science Faculties with explicit goal of providing holistic education to the students and preparing them to face all types of challenges in life. There can be no better opportunity than “Saarang 2017” to showcase and nurture hidden talents of our students. I wish to acknowledge with gratitude to the efforts taken by my fellow colleagues from Shreerang Education Society (SES) in organizing an event of such magnitude. I have truly enjoyed being a part of the Management of SES and feel proud to have been able to apply the latest technology to the wonderful legacy of Shreerang Education Society and to bring it to its fruitful growth. It warms my heart to know that what we have done over the past few years has brought accolades and recognition to the parent body and to the school. For me personally, it was really a challenge to step out of the normal and experiment with the developmental projects of Shreerang Vidyalaya in case of both – infrastructure and human development. It will always be one of the most memorable milestones of my association with Shreerang Vidyalaya as a past student, past committee member and as a two-term President of Shreerang Education Society. My hearty congratulations to the Principal of English Medium Secondary Section of Shreerang Vidyalaya Ms. RUPA DEY for her valued leadership, Teachers and non-teaching Staff, from the bottom of my heart for the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the School and for initiating Saarang. Such events are useful to push our limits and test our potential to organise such events. Competing with other students helps students to judge themselves more effectively. The work pressure also adds to the demands on the students, especially those involved in organising such festivals. I also take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks to all student representatives, Heads of schools, Sponsors, Donors and parents for their wholehearted support and rewarding association with the school and Management. I wish Saarang, a grand success.

MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL – S.V.E.M. SECONDARY SECTION AND JUNIOR COLLEGE OF SCIENCE & COMMERCE

Education should be able to encompass the mind, body and soul of students. Education should be national education, which should foster burning nationalism and sense of admiration for our cultural tradition and varied heritage.
We wish to see our students as good citizens, upholding justice and self-respect. Hence all our school and College activities are ‘Student centred’
We aim towards total education that is an integrated development of critical ability, work ethics and personality development.
We perceive to achieve this aim due to the intense love, understanding and commitment on the part of my dedicated staff.
We further strive to maintain a healthy relationship between staff and parents whose supreme aim is betterment of the students at large.
Today parents are involved in their work routine with very less time to devote towards the children. It is the teacher in the school who instils in them principles of morality both by precept and by example. Our staff tries their level best to build up our students’ personalities so that they Can play their role well on the stage of life.
The parents are requested to blanket their children with love and appreciation and give them the freedom to test their knowledge and learn from their own experiences. Allow them to make a choice, do not at any stage try to overprotect them, but at the same time give them unconditional love so that they can live their lives with dignity, courage and truth.
I end with our pledge for the year 2017………
We will do more than belong,
We will ‘partiCipate’
We will do more than care,
we will ‘ help.’
We will do more than believe,
We will ‘practiCe’
We will do more than forgive
we will ‘ forget’
We will do more than being fair,
we will be ‘ kind’
We will do more than dream,
we will ‘ work’
We will do more than teach,
We will ‘inspire’

Today we take immense pleasure in handing over to youthe souvenir ‘SAARANG 2017’ which is published on the occasion of first Inter College Festival and Silver Jubilee Year of Shreerang Vidyalaya English Medium Secondary Section.
SHREERANG VIDYALAYA ENGLISH MEDIUM SECONDARY SECTION started in 1992 with a few students in hand in a small composed building, which has enlarged itself to include more than 1200 students on roll in a spacious building. We are proud to say that we have added one more feather to our cap with the addition of Junior College of Science and Commerce attached with Secondary Section from the academic year 2016/2017
- Our hard work has led to the inclusion of Information and Technology as an optional subject. We soon shall add the Bifocal subjects of Computer Science and Banking to the College.
- In this competitive age, school/college is considered as a training ground to mould the overall personality of the students and to display their hidden talents in various fields. With this objective in view our school/college too has decided to publish the school/college souvenir to make it a mark of achievement of our success and accolades.

I CONCLUDE ———-
Today I would like to know the status of the same College which got a whooping admission of 57 students in Commerce and 48 in Science in the first year itself. Even after adding IT and CS why are admissions so low? And what about Staff and Students Discipline?
Also please remember I was totally against INTEGRATED COLLEGE and our aim was not monetary benefits but quality of Education and Activities.
SAARANG IS A WORK OF ART FOR ME AND MY COLLEAGUES WHOSE VOICES ARE TODAY DIMMED DUE TO FEAR.
AS ARISTOTLE RIGHTLY SAID – “THE AIM OF ART IS NOT TO REPRESENT THE OUTWARD APPEARANCE OF THINGS BUT THEIR INWARD SIGNIFICANCE”
You may say what is my interest. Management comes and goes every three years but me and my colleagues have given our sweat and blood for this institute. That is why I am bothered and will be till I take my last breath. I specially have sacrificed my family life and my reputation has been put at stake many a times for this institution. For the last 33 years, I have worked day and night to bring up this institute from scratch but how hilarious that I was denied entry though I went for official work and others can come and go as per their will. ‘
