Maharashtra bans integrated coaching from next academic year

Maharashtra government on Friday announced that integrated coaching will not be allowed in the state from the next academic year. It will be compulsory to attend college lectures and attendance will be marked through bio-metric system, reports said. Notably, integrated coaching is an arrangement between colleges and coaching centres, in which students don’t need to attend college lectures.

But in spite of the ban the Private Managements of Integrated Colleges continued with this nexus of joining with the coaching classes with the intent of minting a large amount of money from the coaching classes.

Colleges who go for integrated system have no future and no hold over the college and students anymore as in a way they have sold off all their rights to the coaching classes.

The Managements who do it are basically failures who are not interested or have failed to run the show due to lack of experience or for personal monetary benefits leading to corrupt affairs.

Integrated college is where you take admission in a coaching institute which have a tie up with a school or regular Junior College. It is very much necessary to stop this unholy nexus where the only intention of the Management is to mint money at the cost of students’ future. Students taking admission will have to shell out a huge amount of money for school as well as coaching class fees. Also, they will only attend college for practical’s and to fill the Higher Secondary Exam Form.

The total fees charged by the coaching for integrated courses is anything but 50% higher compared to non-integrated courses. In addition to this fee, students will also have to pay the fee of the integrated college which will remain the same. Which students can afford this type of fees? Surely not students from the lower middle class, this nexus is making education go out of reach of the poor children.

The only concern of the coaching classes is monetary benefits. As a result, they force the colleges to accept their conditions and the colleges will have no say either on the discipline or any other factor. The colleges stand at the mercy of the coaching classes and the only beneficiaries are the private management and the owners of these classes.

Also, we should not forget the disadvantages like the fatigue factor, the faculty of the coaching classes forced on the students where the classes tie up with so many schools at a time that they fail to provide quality education.

The private Managements who do this only and only for monetary benefits should be penalized with criminal proceedings of vested interest and money laundering charges. Also, for jeopardizing the jobs of the Junior college teachers and holding the students to ransom through this selfish act of theirs.

I am aghast at the audacity of these private Managements who have the guts to go against the dictates and rulings of the Education Department.

The same thing happened during covid times when huge contracts were given for online apps in the name of online education. If you look at the data of corruption based on the forcible installations of these apps through the vested interested parties of the private managements, you will feel sorry for the corruption that has creeped inside the domain of education.

IN THE END I CAN ONLY SAY THAT STRICTEST ACTION SHOULD BE TAKEN AGAINST SUCH MANAGEMENT AT AN INDIVIDUAL LEVEL FOR FLOUTING THE LAWFUL ORDERS OF THE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT AND FOR ROBBING THE STUDENTS OF A COLLEGE EXPERIENCE WHICH IS CRIMINAL AND WICKED.

The Government needs to crack their whip at such educational institutes and their private managements and the citizens and parents need to protest at such wrongdoings by the private managements who are accepting donations and large fees at the cost of the students.

Corruption in educational institutes are unwarranted and should be stopped at all costs.
